Charity Calls:
They (true believers) fulfill vows and fear a day the evil of which shall be spreading far and wide. And they give food out of love for Him to the poor and the orphan and the captive. (They will say) "We only feed you for Allah's sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks. Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day".  The Glorious Quran 76:7,8,9,10

Thekkepuram NRIs undertake various 'Charity Calls' under their direct and indirect supervision. Upon receiving genuine calls; they campaign, contribute and realize such requirements. Their involvement was vital in many charity activities. This section provides a common podium for such charity campaigns.

Call for a Yatheem Girl
Status: Closed

Dears, I have a genuine case of charity for a yatheem girl surviving with her mother Haleema, who was doing household chores for daily wages in many houses in our locality including mine. Due to old age and health reasons, she couldn’t continue her job. You may had seen her husband, short fellow with dark complexion and high-power eyeglass selling “thenga mithai” in various school premises, expired a few years back left three un-married daughters among five behind her. This girl is the last one to send married. Her both sons are unable to generate much as one is a daily wager and another a student.

Please note that the society Haleema belongs, have not matured enough to fight against dowry and all. She has utter solace when someone has accepted her daughter for 1 Lakh and 25 pavans. Inshallah, theirs marriage will take place on the first week of April 2009.

If you wish to provide her a helping hand, please let me know by a return mail. May God help and save us all (Aameen)! Regards,

Call for Renovation of Shaduli Palli
Status: Closed

Dears,
Below is the self elucidation and plea from Parappil Shaduli Palli Committee.  Hope required no further prelude. May Almighty Alla'h Qabool our good deeds and count Hasana'h for every contribution (Aameen). Your participation would be greatly solicited.

The letter received from Thekkepuram, Calicut:
Assalamu Alaikum.
Hope you are doing fine there with the grace of Allah the Almighty.

I, wish to inform you  here,  the serious conditions about the Shadulli Palli upstairs portion. The concrete roof of the building  has been deteriorated due to  antiquity and the cracks have been noticed on several places. In the last rainy season, water were flowing through this cracks to the first floor. At present first floor is using for conducting Madrassa and as a prayer hall for ladies.  Repairs of  the cracks with cement will not last long. After consulting with the Engineer, the committee has decided to put  truss work at the top, covering full area with Aluminum sheets with the support of concrete pillars. The estimated  expenses for this work is Rs.6 lakh. This work has to be completed before starting of the next rainy season and the committee has  no funds  to meet this huge expenses.

I am enclosing herewith an appeal requesting for funds. Please circulate this among our Thekkepuram Members, well wishers and collect maximum amount.

With regards,
Yours faithfully
P.K. Moosa Koya
