It is true that most resident in Thekkepuram is spending too much money for marriage and no body is bothered about that. Personally, me too also find nothing wrong in spending for marriages, provided by, the person who is responsible for the marriage has enough fund. But there are some people who borrow the money and make the marriage lavish, that is intolerable.
All might have noticed that during the marriage season (during the Gulf schools vacation) there will be so many marriage functions in Thekkepuram itself. Around 99% of the marriage invitees are same for all marriages and only the host will be changed. Also there are so many marriages in one family group even only in week’s difference. If all the family members are taking interest, the marriages in one family group can be celebrated in one function, there by reducing the individual marriage cost in different days. The cost of the function could be divided among the family, who is participating in the group marriage.
Further, if there is any uniformity in food, there will not be any comparison between the marriages.
