Fahahaeel Brothers Clinched Prestigious CIESCO Trophy 

Much awaited Seven A Side football feast of CIESCO Kuwait Wing one of the legendary organization actively working among Keralite expatriates hailing from Calicut) kicked off on 2/1/2009 at Fahaheel behind Al Amal clinic ground. Eight prominent teams among Keralite expatriates participated in the tournament with host of their cheerful supporters and other football lovers.  Stadium was amazingly packed with foot ball lovers despite scotching cold to enjoy the foot ball feast. Each team and spectators wished each other 'Happy New Year' before the match kicked off.

Tournament was inaugurated by CIESCO Kuwait Wing Sports Convenor Mr.Safar Soopikka Veedu. and played on point (League) basis. From Two groups – A & B –Group leaders directly qualified for Final. From the group 'A', surprisingly Malappuram brothers posed serious challenges to  group favorites Fahaheel brothers as both team ended up their matches earning equal points but goal scoring machines of F.Bros never let their team down as F.Bros qualified for Final on heavy goal difference.  From Group 'B', KKFC (Kuwait Kerala Foot Ball Club) was the favorites to qualify and they did it on fashion by offering goal spree games to spectators.  

  As the final approaches, temperature again went down with wind rubbing cold on the bones of the players and spectators.But awaited intensity of final match, ignited flares of spirit among all to watch the final. It's F.Bros who started the organized attack through wings and midfield. But gritty defending of KKFC subdued F.Bros strikers efforts. KKFC immediately responded with counter attacks but their efforts vain due to lack of sharpness in shooting. Pulsating first half ended goalless.

  Second half, both teams were determined to break the deadlock. F.Bros midfield weaved some  marvelous show of foot ball craft with one ~ two exchange between wingers  and midfielders which produced a golden opportunity for their striker – Muneer – to score a eye catching goal from a  long range. After the goal, KKFC showed renewed resolve to score but their midfield was ineffective and wings were always unutilized. Rubbing salt to the wounds, their defender was sent off for  a unsporting action. KKFC striker force lead by Aashiq was always under the deadlock of F.Bros defense marshaled by Abdul Qadar. After the first goal, when KKFC was more focused on attack, F.Bros grabbed lapses in KKFC defense in the dying minutes of match to score another stunning goal by their midfield maestro – Saleh which in fact sealed fate of KKFC.  Winners trophy to Fahaheel Bros was awarded by CIESCO Kuwait Wing President  Mr. Ahmad Koya.K.V and Runners up trophy to KKFC was awarded by Mr. Maqsood Ahamed.  Abdul Qadar from F.Bros was selected as Best Player , Manoj was from KKFC was selected as best goal keeper and Top scorer trophy was won by Riyas from F.Bros. CIESCO Kuwait Wing Gen.Secretary Noufal Ayiram Veedu thanked all teams and foot ball lovers for their active support and discipline for the grand success of this tournament.
