Kuwait Calicut Muslim Association Celebrates Eid Al-Adha

 Kuwait Calicut Muslim Association (KCMA) conducted Eid Al-Adha celebrations “Eid Milan 2008” on Tuesday, Dec 9 at Indian Community School, Khaitan. 

 A large number of families and hundreds of bachelors participated in Eid Al-Adha get-together. Mohammed Ali Arakkal, General Secretary of KCMA welcomed participants and guests to the event. M.E.S. Kuwait president Mohammed Rafi inaugurated Eid celebrations.  President A.V. Shamsudheen presided over the meeting. The meeting was commenced with recitation from Holy Quran by Aysha Shamsu. KCMA patrons A.M. Kunahamed Koya and K.V. Mohammed Koya, Ex-Pesident K.T. Beeran Koya, Dr. Amir Ahmed delivered Eid messages. In his welcome speech Mohammed Ali explained the charity activities of KCMA. He disclosed that last seven years KCMA sent 22 lakh rupees for marriage of poor girls, for medical treatment of poor patients and self employment for 10 poor families in Calicut city. He also mentioned the assistance KCMA sent for the children’s cancer ward at Calicut Medical College Hospital. President A.V. Shamsudheen announced KCMA’s new project of an Ambulance to Calicut Meidcal College hospital patients. Dr. Amir Ahmed inaugurated the Ambulance Project by receiving donation. Zubair Haji from Kanoor released KCMA’s Eid Milan 2008 souvenir by handing over a copy to Shahnas of Etihad Airways.  

Variety entertainment programs including solo dances, group dances, cinematic dances and Oppana entertained the audience. Islamic Quiz competition and Fancy dress competition for children below age 10 were also the enjoyable programs. Songs by Shaiju, Rafi Thangals Road, Sameer P.T., A.V. Noufal, Moideen Koya and Minhasha,Nathasha Razak. enjoyed the gathering with big applause. 

 Raffle draw and Bingo was also added attraction and excitement to the function. Etihad Airways sponsored the event. Fanar Hashim and P.C. Anus win Etihad Airways return tickets to Calicut. Etihad Airways area manager Magdi Labib handed over ticket to Fanar Hashim and President A.V. Shamsudheen handed over the ticket to P.C. Anus. K.V. Mohamed Koya, K. Abdurahiman A. Mohammed Ali, E.V. Ayoob, P.N.M. Abdul Naser, D.V. Musthafa, S.V. Hashim and K.V. Ummer Koya distributed prizes for the winners of the competitions.  It was a day of enjoyment, the day to celebrate Eid days. The day proved to be the day of happiness for those who participated. Program convener  Noufal Ayiram Veedu proposed vote of thanks.
